A bit about me...
Hello! I’m Emma, an artist and surface pattern designer based in Herefordshire, UK.
My first love is my family - my fiancé Ed and I have a young daughter, Layla, who keeps us on our toes! Running my own business from home allows me to spend precious time with them.
I've always been an artist at heart...
I’ve always loved drawing - pretty much as soon as I could hold a pencil, I would just draw anything and everything, especially people and animals. I started my own business as a pet portrait artist eight years ago which has been very rewarding but since having Layla in 2021, my business has grown in new and exciting ways.
Finding a new passion...
Even though my university degree was actually in Fashion and Textiles, I only discovered the wonderful world of surface pattern design a year ago. Ever since then I’ve been completely consumed with learning everything there is to know about it and designing my first few collections. It’s so exciting to see my designs coming to life on various products.
My designs are currently available as fabric and wallpaper and they are also available for licensing.
My Inspiration...
I have always loved art and nature and I draw inspiration from the abundance of flora and fauna I see on a daily basis in my beautiful surroundings. I love family walks in the British countryside and am looking forward to exploring more and more with Layla as she grows older.
I create my sketches using a mixture of watercolour pencils and pen and I love bringing these together in exciting ways to produce appealing patterns.
