Charcoal Portrait of Bella and Tess the Labradors - From Start to Finish

  This portrait of Bella and Tess (chocolate and black labradors) was for one of Claire from Jets Doggy Care Centre's customers.  I really enjoyed this one as there's so much character in their faces! I drew them from two separate photographs so I just had to make sure that they were the right sizes! Claire asked me to draw the portrait as a small portrait sketch - it took around five hours and I finished it off with an off-white textured mount.

This lovely portrait of Buzz and Dory was commissioned by Claire from Jets Doggy Day Care for one of her favourite customers and close friends. I did the portrait as a medium sized portrait sketch using two separate images of Buzz and Dory and it took me around eight hours to complete. I was really pleased with the finished piece - black dogs can sometimes be quite hard to capture in charcoal but I love how this turned out! The portrait of Holly the yellow labrador was commissioned by Tina for her brother and sister-in-law for a joint 60th birthday present. Holly was very elderly and not in very good health when Tina placed her order and while I was working on the portrait she sadly passed away.
