News from the Warren! — commemorate your pet
This month's "Start to Finish" piece is of a very handsome horse named Danny! I completed his charcoal portrait in November for a Christmas gift. He was done as an A3 sized piece and took around 20 hours to finish. He took a bit longer than normal as I had the added complication of removing his head collar from the picture.
This month's "Start to Finish" piece is Gamble the little Westie. Christine and Rob commissioned me to do this charcoal portrait for their friends Clive and Dilys after Gamble sadly passed away. I did Gamble in A3 size and he took around 15 hours to complete.
This month's "Start to Finish" is Pickles! His charcoal portrait was commissioned by Katie for her partner's 30th birthday last year. I did Pickles on A4 and he took around 15 hours to complete.
I’ve been spending the last few months sketching away like mad creating lots of designs for my Christmas collection of cards and prints. I’ve drawn a range of lovely animals including a donkey, mouse, bird and deer. Whilst working on the last sketch it suddenly occurred to me that I could introduce a new smaller sketch option to my pet portraits as well…and that is exactly what I have done! The sketches are drawn on A4 paper and the actual portrait measures around 6”x8”. They come ready mounted (there is a choice of three colours; black, honey and blue) so...
This week's "Start to Finish" charcoal portrait piece is Siege the horse who sadly passed away earlier this year. He was much-loved by his owners Tahnee and Mike and the portrait was done as a way of commemorating him. I drew Siege on A3 and he took close to 20 hours because of all the detail in his face!
