Charcoal Portrait of Phoebe the Cat - From Start to Finish

Charcoal Portrait of Phoebe the Cat - From Start to Finish

I drew this portrait of the very sweet Phoebe for Sandra after she won Your Cat Magazine's Christmas 2017 Advent Calendar Competition. She was drawn as a medium sized charcoal sketch portrait and took around seven and a half hours to complete. Sandra and I thought that the black mount would work best to finish her off as it is the most striking. See Phoebe's portrait develop in the video:

Charcoal Portrait of Mickey the Cat - From Start to Finish

Sarah commissioned me to draw a charcoal portrait of Mickey the cat for her partner Tom after he sadly died at the grand age of 23. He was a great animal to draw as there is just so much character and expression in his little face. He took about eight hours to complete. I drew him as a medium sized portrait and Sarah asked me to finish him off with a textured off-white mount. Tom was delighted with the finished piece. “I just wanted to let you know that Tom LOVES Mickey. Everyone is so impressed with how accurate he...

Charcoal Portrait of Pumpkin the Cat - From Start to Finish

Katie and James comissioned me to draw the very striking Pumpkin as a wedding present for their friends. She was the third commission I did for them! See her progressing in the below video: Pickles, Pom Bear & Pumpkin "We have commissioned 3 animal portraits from Emma in the past year, 2 dogs and a cat. The whole process was quick, easy and personal.  It was a...

Charcoal Portrait of Ben, Ruby, Mable and Ruby - From Start to Finish

This four-piece commission was commissioned by Richard for his girlfriend Sue's birthday. As there were three dogs and a cat to draw Richard and I decided it was best to draw four separate portraits rather than squeeze all four pets into one drawing. I finished the commission off with a lovely bespoke frame with a midnight blue velvet-look mount. It took around five months to complete and whilst I was working on the commission Ruby sadly passed away so her portrait became even more special for Sue. Richard and Sue were both delighted with the finished piece and hung it...

*NEW* Smaller Size Option on Pet Portrait Sketches

*NEW* Smaller Size Option on Pet Portrait Sketches

I've now introduced a smaller size option for my popular pet portrait sketches - these measure 4.5" x 6.5" and come in a smart textured off-white mount. These are a great idea for birthdays, anniversaries etc. They are a quicker option than my other portraits. For more details watch the below video:
